Accountant Analyst II/III
Function: The Accountant Analyst II / III provides comprehensive accounting and analytical support to the overall function of the Accounting Department by independently preparing, analyzing, reviewing and reporting on the Bank, its products and services, and peers. Performs a wide range of highly complex accounting and analytical functions and assures day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies and objectives. Is a self-starter and continually seeks and implements efficiencies in processes and provides recommendations for enhancements. Has potential for future supervisory and team building opportunities. Collaborates with employees at all levels of the organization to achieve the objectives set by internal and external customers.

Accountabilities:

Leads the preparation, review and coordination of financial reports to include one or more of the following:Budgeting/forecasting of the Bank financial statementsRegulatory reportingMonth-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing and reporting of financial resultsBusiness line and profitability analysis/reportingAccounting for Bank fixed assetsAccounting for Bank investmentsPrepares specialized or highly complex reports, analyses and interpretations in support of various accounting and reporting functions for management and outside agencies, utilizing advanced knowledge and proficiency in accounting practices and principlesAbility to learn and prepare compliance and regulatory oriented filings with FDIC, Federal Reserve Bank, etc. (including but not limited to quarterly Call Report, FR2900, Y-9LP, Summary of Deposits, etc.)Prepares and distributes various periodic and ad hoc reports as needed and serves as a reviewer of similar work prepared by others within the departmentCreates and maintains procedures affecting assigned functionsSolves problems and seeks solutions that streamline processes and enhance accuracy and quality of work;  employs technology in daily work to enhance and maximize productivityContributes to the preparation of materials for internal and external audit requests. Serves as a resource for auditor questionsBuilds relationships and provides ongoing accounting support for colleagues outside the Accounting Department and strives for the highest level of customer serviceEnsures compliance with internal accounting policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and state and federal regulationsStays up to date on industry trends and regulatory changes, utilizes appropriate professional, GAAP, tax and related literature; and communicates and educates the team and Bank colleagues accordinglyConducts training as needed on system software, and provides learning opportunities and training for department on topics of expertisePerforms reconciliation of selected general ledger accounts, researches and resolves routine/complex exceptionsPerforms month-end close process and reporting within established timeframe.Handles multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing accordingly to manage department/individual needsOffers interpretation, explanation and guidance of/for the most complex Bank reports and activitiesInteracts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of Bank goals

and objectives through a commitment to teamwork

Performs other duties as needed to support the Accounting team and the BankMaintains/updates various Accounting Department systemsServes as a mentor within the Accounting Department by supporting the team and leading by examplePerforms review of work prepared by others within the department and the Bank as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related area (business, accounting or finance);  five plus years of accounting or financial analysis experience preferredSupervisory experience and team building skillsMonth-end close process experience preferredStrong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills requiredHigh degree of emotional intelligence and professional maturityHigh proficiency with spreadsheets and database managementSolid computer skills with ability to quickly learn multiple software applicationsWorking knowledge of accounting principlesStrong knowledge of accounting and regulatory principlesSelf-motivated and results-oriented with ability to work effectively with limited supervision in a multi-task environment
