Job Summary: Supernus is looking for a full-stack PHP developer to join the IT Team. This position will help with custom web application development, automation, and business intelligence. Custom development typically includes forms, reports, visualizations, and databases. Working collaboratively with business leaders in multiple departments to implement applications for more efficient business processes.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with a broad spectrum of technologies, and the ability to communicate well with business leaders. The ideal candidate would possess the ability to innovate on software and processes that improve business operations.

Typical development cycles include scoping meetings, technology selection, mockups, development, QA, and iterative enhancements. Candidates are expected to be able to propose and keep to timelines or communicate issues early. The candidate should expect independent work, and work with a small team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Design custom applications in PHP, usually with Symfony, Drupal, or WordPress. Create and manage project timelines and scope. Support existing web properties and applications. Initiate automation and business intelligence projects. Interact with internal company “clients” and business leaders. Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, 1+ years of experience preferred. Experience with Drupal, WordPress, Symfony or another Object Oriented and MVC framework. Experience with JavaScript, JQuery. Experience with APIs, REST, and JSON. Knowledge of Azure Applications Development environment. Experience with server configuration using Apache or Ngnix. Strong debugging skills. Ability to initiate and finish self-led objectives. Strong exposure to SQL queries. Experience working with Git and Public GitHub repo with interesting projects a plus. Experience developing apps for business intelligence, analytics, or visualizations. Experience linking data from multiple sources, databases, and applications is strongly preferred. Experience with frontend frameworks, e.g. Angular preferred. Exposure to multiple languages and frameworks desirable – Python, bash shell, Node JS, etc. preferred. Experience with Microsoft BI – or other business intelligence suites preferred. Light graphic design experience using the Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Spark preferred. Experience with digital media design and management of internal TV display network. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, dependable and flexible when necessary.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

Able to communicate via various methods including electronic, in person, or via telephone. Candidate should be comfortable moving throughout a five-floor, two-connected building complex. Position may require prolonged sitting, and standing; the ability to push, pull, drag, and/or lift up to 10 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination; repetitive hand movement using a computer keyboard and mouse. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen and extensive reading. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
