Freddie Mac’s Investment and Capital Markets (ICM) Division is currently seeking a Professional hire for its Asset and Liability Management (ALM) trading desk. ALM is responsible for managing the interest rate risk associated with Freddie Mac’s Retained Portfolio and other, market-sensitive business lines using interest rate derivatives and other fixed income products. In addition to day-to-day portfolio management, ALM collaborates with other trading desks and Financial Engineering to facilitate trading activity, and to drive new business initiatives and model changes. Your Impact

Responsible for supporting ALM portfolio managers hedge Freddie Mac’s interest rate risk, with a focus on convexity/option hedging. Ultimately, the Professional will be trained to be a portfolio manager for the ALM deskDevelop relative value tools and perform analysis to drive/refine trading strategy and hedging decisionsWrite and present market commentary regarding economic trends, regulatory developments, and fixed income markets. Prepare materials for ICM’s senior management and Freddie Mac’s regulator, FHFA

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or other related field. Advanced degree or CFA a plusMinimum 2 years of industry experience in fixed income markets. Deep understanding of derivatives and mortgages strongly preferredDeep understanding of duration, convexity and vega risk –what these risks are, and the instruments used to hedge themFluent in Excel, proficient in Python, SQL, Tableau, and VBA. Experience using Bloomberg strongly preferredTeam player that embraces the diverse and inclusive culture of Freddie Mac

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $76,000 - $114,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
