**Overview** As a member of our Finance team, the Assistant Controller will ensure that reported plant results comply with generally accepted accounting principles in our Consumer Packaging North America Division at our **Lawrence, KS location** . Through support to the site Controller of our Lawrence, KS facility, the candidate will also help improve financial performance by working closely with Plant Management, Operations, Product Line Management, and Sales. **Responsibilities** + Support site Controller with management of plant financial reporting and P&L responsibilities + Work closely with Controller, Plant Manager and the site Operations team to identify and measure ways for improving the profitability of the business. + Drive improved financial performance by identifying and executing opportunities to increase sales and reduce costs + Ensure the facility is Sarbanes Oxley compliant. + Assist with annual budgeting process + Assist with Capital planning for plant maintenance and cost reduction projects. + Understand and implement best practices + Support Controller in completion of monthly financial reporting requirements + Support Controller to facilitate accurate monthly and quarterly financial forecasts **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience + Understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory, and data processing + Prior experience with ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards) and MS Office + Strong understanding of manufacturing operations desired + Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley as related to manufacturing accounting + Capability to build/maintain excellent rapport with management staff at each facility + Ability to travel as needed We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
