Job Overview

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in day-to-day operations of the restaurant and upholding Burger King’s standards and culture in all areas of restaurant operations.


PAY TRANSPARENCY

Starting pay rate is up to $20.00 per hour, depending on skill level, experience and/or education. Compensation offered is also subject to local wage and hour laws.


Your Impact and Responsibilities:

Creates crewmember work and training schedulesManages the performance of all hourly crewmembers (e.g. development, coaching, re-directive communication and documentation, and other performance management tasks)Acts as manager on duty and opens and closes the restaurantManages cash handling and ensures accountabilityAuthorizes employee functions requiring manager approval (e.g. discounts, promotions, timeclock overrides, etc.)Ensures cleanliness of the restaurant and ensures the facility is in good working orderUses required tools, forms and logs to support shift execution, document results and take corrective action when neededEnsures current training materials and programs (updated recipes, charts and functioning kitchen monitor) are consistently utilized in teammate trainingTrains and develops the best teammatesSets clear performance expectations through directions and goals; actively listens to teammates to determine needs and concerns and quickly respondWork through RGM’s to ensure restaurants are staffed with qualified shift supervisors, and crewDevelops and executes plans to achieve top line sales performance compared to budget sales for each area.Develops plans to control expenses and achieve budget for restaurant operating profit for each areas of the Profit and Loss StatementsMaximize presence in restaurants in all dayparts to monitor operational status to provide feedback to RGM’sAssists restaurant general managers in identifying training needs and the execution of training programs to improve their restaurant management teamsAssist restaurant general managers with compliance and understanding of Nath Companies, Inc. policies and procedures, such as; Security, Safety, Cash handling, Sexual HarassmentAssists in ensuring restaurants are following all state and federal labor laws, as they pertain to Burger KingAssist restaurant general managers with compliance and understanding of BKC policies, procedures and requirementsOpen new restaurants successfully with high operating standards and within budgetAll other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

Must have extensive and successful experience as a restaurant general managerFamiliarity with company organization, policies and procedures, and personnel preferredRequires excellent human relations skills including leadership and motivationStrong communication skills: listening, oral and writtenMust be 18 years of age or older3+ years of restaurant or retail management experienceDetail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changingSelf-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skillsAble to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaborativelyAble to recognize and analyze problems, set goals, create plans and convert plans into action to solve problemsProficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quicklyFood Safety: Serve Safe certifiedActs with integrity; keeps commitmentsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeThe ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsTolerate extreme cold and hot temperatures and work in and around fryers, ovens, grills, coolers, freezers, sharp objects, and loud noisesReach, grasp, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift, including reaching for objects overheadPush, pull, lift, and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50+ lb. occasionally, including lifting from ground to overheadMinimum education requirement: Highschool diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications:

Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends and travel as needed for work-related functions and training
