Recruitment/Posting Title Assistant Professor of Voice-Tenure Track Department MGSA - Music Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary The Department of Music at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, invites experienced Artist/Teachers to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in Voice at the rank of Assistant Professor. A tenor is preferred, but all voice types will be considered. Applicants must possess a significant national and international performing record and successful teaching experience. Also required is a demonstrated commitment to: equity, diversity, and inclusion; effective applied instruction; mentoring students in their professional development; and recruitment of high-caliber voice students. Voice artists who are experienced with both classical music and musical theater, jazz, or other contemporary styles are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of visibility in the profession. Teaching responsibilities include studio voice for undergraduate performance and music education majors as well as master’s and doctoral students in performance degrees. Courses in diction, pedagogy or song literature may also be part of the candidate’s teaching responsibilities, depending on their strengths and expertise.
