Associate Software Engineer - C# Emphasis

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for our Associate Software Engineer position with an emphasis in application and desktop development. As an Associate Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

Participate in the design, implementation, and test of software systems.

Understand hardware and software interactions, and collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers.

Participate in project planning and estimation.

Actively participate in, the specification, design, implementation, review, and test of complex safety critical systems.

Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

 

This job might be for you if:

B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent

Knowledge and experience in object-oriented languages (C#, Java, C++, Delphi)

Strong understanding of OO principles and concepts

Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to quality

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s).

Ability to adhere to SEL's tobacco free workplace policy.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Knowledge of Agile development principles and processes

Knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework or .NET Core

Understanding of modern web development

Knowledge and experience in web supporting technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML5).

Experience with User Experience design

Experience with revision control systems (Git)

Experience with automated unit testing (NUnit, MSTest, Jest)
