Position Overview:The position of an Automation Maintenance Technician is to Support, maintain, and assemble Digi-Key automation projects and equipment to Digi-Key standards

Schedule: Monday- Friday 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

Responsibilities:Automation equipment production supportMonitor software dashboards for indications of production issuesCommunicate production issues to other teams within Digi-KeyTake corrective software or mechanical actions to resolve issuesCollect data about the issueEnter data about issues into spreadsheets/softwareMaintenance and assemblyAssembling automation devices consisting of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic componentsTesting and qualifying automation devicesInstalling/updating FirmwareAssembling and installing wiring harnessesAssembling/repairing circuit boardsReplacing worn components on automation devicesAssembling storage components used for automation projectsTrouble shooting problematic automation devicesCollect and document detailed information about devicesAssisting with other Digi-Key team projects as needed

Additional Work & Educational Experience

High school Degree2 years of work experience in a closely related technical field.Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment or individually with minimal supervisionWork well in cross functional teamsAbility to understand and follow safety proceduresAbility to understand written and verbal communicationsAble to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a positive attitudeSelf-motivatedDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of electronic assemblies, construction and testing techniquesMechanical experienceHands on Trouble shooting skills

Physical Requirements:

• May walk/standing on concrete for 8-10 hours a day
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. from floor to shoulder height
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. alone

• Physical ability to perform the full range of maintenance and assembly duties


* Ability to drive a forklift
* Must have a valid driver’s license
* Requires availability for some weekend work
