AZURE CLOUD DATABASE DEVELOPER/ADMINISTRATOR (DQM):

 

Bowhead seeks an Azure Cloud Database Developer/Administrator to join our team in Mobile, AL to support the Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) section within the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District, Spatial Data Branch. The position will perform a wide range of database administration functions related to SQL databases, Databricks, and Data Lakes, along with advanced data related scripting.  

Responsibilities Work with a team to plan and implement new data storage solutionsPerform routine backups and restoresManage database security policies and proceduresImplement security, roles, users, and privileges using best practicesDesign scalable and efficient database models/schemas as well as make design enhancements to existing data models based on application requirementsCreate databases (manage scaling/indexing), schema, tables, complex views, stored procedures, data sharing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processesDocument all elements of existing and new database designsProduce design documents supporting the automated exchange of data between internal and external data sourcesAssist in querying data to provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Qualifications BA/S in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field is required.eight-twelve years (8-12+) of relevant database administration experience is required.Experience with Microsoft Azure SQL, complex query skills, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)Experience in managing Cloud Database solutions and data is requiredStrong Object relational mapping experience and T-SQL is requiredSome experience or familiarity with Python is preferred, but not necessary; motivation to learn new technologies/languages needed for data processing/storage is a must.Intermediate-to-advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite—Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.Security+ certification

 Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
