Bakery Logistics Supervisor - DC Bakery

Our Bakery Logistics Supervisor supports Tatte’s efforts to provide comfort and joy, and to inspire, care for and nurture life, every day, by overseeing all non-production functions in partnership with the Bakery Operations Manager. This includes but is not limited to food safety and sanitation, purchasing, logistics, inventory management, customer service and compliance with all Tatte policies as well as local and government regulations. Additionally, the Bakery Logistics Supervisor supports the bakery leadership team on initiatives involving food safety, team member safety, as well as new deployments and company initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities

Maintains safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards (Tatte, Local, State and Federal) of the entire premise, including sharing the responsibility of local and federal food inspections along with the Department of Transportation guidelines With support from the Bakery Operations Manager, assists in all non-production staffing in the bakery, including ensuring adequate staffing, onboarding, managing, developing and growing all driver, sanitation, receiving, and maintenance team members With the Bakery Operations Manager, oversees all purchasing, receiving and inventory management of raw material and other items necessary to run the bakery Leads weekly inventory counting and assists in troubleshooting of variances with bakery leadership team In partnership with the Bakery Operations Manager, assists with production and operational planning, including effectively and efficiently managing labor expenses and waste Oversees logistics to and from our cafés, maintains strong and effective relationships with all café managers, and provides prompt and regular customer service via phone, email, and in-person Ensures all vehicles are maintained properly and operate in compliance with state laws Resolves issues raised by café management on a timely basis In partnership with the Bakery Facilities & Equipment Technician and Tatte Facilities team, oversees all Bakery repair and maintenance issues Promotes, models, and maintains Tatte culture and ensures all Tatte Polices are adhered to Actively participates in management meetings to ensure effective and accurate communication of all relevant product and operational information Maintains understanding of and follows crisis management procedures Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions / Essential Functions

Able to stand for 8 hours per shift/day, 5-days a week Able to lift, carry, and push 50lb regularly Able to grasp and reach overhead Ability to work flexible hours and days, including holidays and weekends

Position Requirements

Licensed and able to drive Tatte delivery trucks as needed Fluency in English, written and spoken Other Preferred Skills 2+ years experience in medium- to large- scale foodservice setting Experience leading a driving, receiving, and/or sanitation team Understanding and effective management of regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, FDA inspections, Health Dept., EPA, City and County Inspectors) Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices Experience with implementing and maintaining quality systems and programs Experience building and mentoring high performance teams Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) highly preferred
