What you will do:

Administers Firelands Health employee benefits and maintains accurate records and files for all employees participating in various benefits plans.

Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers related to specific employee concerns or benefit problems.  Ensures benefit insurance billings are correct.  Manages all changes, new enrollments and terminations for the Firelands Health plan.

Ensures compliance on annual mandatory employee filings for the Firelands Health. Actively participates in health insurance and pharmacy benefit review committees. Processes initial and termination COBRA notifications. Maintains group and employee voluntary insurance records and files; completes monthly reports. Maintains monthly reconciliation and payment of all voluntary products. Outreach to employees in regards to their benefit options whenever there is a change in employment status.  Manages such changes in conjunction with the payroll schedule. Open enrollment development, implementation, and ensures proper deductions for benefits are processed in accordance with the plan year.  Responsible for administration of the Flexible Spending Accounts, processing new and maintaining existing accounts and audits payroll records to ensure proper administration. Reconcile EOB/payments for employees as applicable. Assists the Plan Administrator with the Firelands Health Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Retirement Plans.  Assists eligible individuals with their options and helps prepare the documents necessary to provide the distribution requested.

Assists the Human Resources Generalist with FMLA and other LOA processes, and Worker’s Compensation claims.

Presents at various department meetings throughout the year regarding current and/or changes to employee benefits.

Presents employee benefit information at monthly new employee general orientation and the annual meeting for the new interns and the School of Nursing.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or closely related field or equivalent experience required.   Three (3) years of related experience. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of benefits administration and applicable federal and state laws.  Experience in a clinical role or setting is a plus.

Working knowledge of current human resources laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g. ACA, etc.).

Must have technical and/or PC skills sufficient to have working knowledge of multiple software programs, i.e. Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, UltiPro etc.

Proven ability to interact effectively with employees, physicians, Firelands Health departments at all levels, state agencies, and external agencies. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups for training and education purposes.  Must be capable of creating Power Point presentations, graphs, charts, and dashboard reports that accurately reflect leave usage. Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request. Successful completion of 180-day probationary period.
