Camps Inclusion Support Staff I
Job Summary

The City of Rockville is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Support Staff. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of campers with diverse abilities by providing support, encouragement, and assistance during our summer camp programs. Training will be provided. Essential Job Functions

Helps plan, organize, and adapt activities in a specific skill area for participants.Maintains control and supervision over participants involved in activities that they are conducting. Participates and provides support/assistance for campers with diverse abilities participating in City of Rockville Summer CampsEnsures that safety precautions are always observed in structured activities, trips, and open play and ensures adaptive equipment is available. Remains energetic and active at all times and is innovative when participants are idle, restless, or unwilling to participate.Handles responsibilities competently and thoroughly and lends assistance.Ensures good public relations and responsiveness to the participants and citizens of Rockville.Notifies the director of unusual situations involving injuries, accidents, or emergencies with participants or staff.

Qualifications

Patience, open-mindedness, flexibility, and a passion for helping others. Good communication skills; ability to exercise independent judgment; CPR, First Aid, and AED may be required (training is available and free of cost if needed). 
                                                                                                                                                
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with children required; Experience aiding or leading children in recreational activities required. Experiencing working with individuals or groups of individuals with disabilities preferred.
 
EDUCATION:
Youth Camps: High school students 16 years of age or older. 
Teen Camps: High School graduate 18 years of age or older.
