Job DescriptionThe Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in serving patients and in maintaining medication and inventory control systems. Under the general supervision of the Director and other pharmacists, the pharmacy technician performs various distributive and clerical functions associated with the dispensing, delivery, and charging of medications and IV fluids. Education / Certification / Licensure: Must be registered with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy ActiveCurrent pharmacy technician certification through PTCBExperience / Skill:At least 1 year experience in a hospital pharmacy settingWorking knowledge of unit dose distribution, repackaging, sterile compounding, medication storage inspections, and pharmacy automated devicesInterpersonal and communication skills necessary to meet the needs of all customer groupsConcentration and attention to detail- often under time pressures
