DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking to hire a Full-Time Civil Engineer- Structures (Civil Engineer III) for our Columbus, OH office. With offices throughout Ohio, the successful candidate will work under the direction of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager within the structures group of the Columbus office to perform various project related tasks in a hybrid work environment. The candidate will also be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers on various structures projects. In addition to the above, the candidate will be assigned following tasks:

Perform technical calculations and contribute to reports Prepare bridge plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates Perform bridge load ratings Perform bridge modelling Perform bridge inspections Assist senior engineers within large multi-disciplinary design team Perform periodic site visits for assessment

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Master’s Degree with focus in Bridge Engineering a plus PE License in Ohio or ability to obtain Ohio PE License within one year Minimum 8 years of engineering experience Software proficiency – Microsoft Office, Microstation/ OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD experience preferred Proficiency in structural software such as AASHTOWARE BrR, Bentley Bridge Suite, and Midas is preferred Excellent analytical skills Strong written/verbal communication skills Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $93,844- $140,779 per year.  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
