Job Overview:

Under the supervision of Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager, cleans and service building areas. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the hospital departments; and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write and speak EnglishMust have ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and liftingPosition requires standing for approximately 90% of the work dayMust have knowledge of infection control procedures

Preferred:

Hospital housekeeping preferred

Scheduling Requirements

Per Diem status: (flexibility to work days, evening, or night)Shift: DayHas to be able to work, weekends, holidays and schedule as needed

Essential Functions:

Cleans stairs, vacuums and shampoos carpets, washes walls, climbs ladders to reach high areasOperates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical; i.e., buffers, wringers, wet vacuums, etc.Performs any duties asked of you by your supervisors with a positive attitude to include cleaning areas other in the facility other than your assigned area due to sick call, vacations and holidays by other employeesPicks up paper, objects and debris throughout the hospital whenever it is foundTakes an active role in recycling. Makes sure that pick ups are prompt, and encourages recycling throughout the facility
