Communications Specialist Communications Specialist The Communications Specialist operates the VHC Health hospital telephone, voice paging, radio paging and security radio systems. This team member must respond to and appropriately handle all codes and alarms terminating in the communications office. In addition, the Communication Specialist must perform messaging tasks for staff as appropriate. Job Description Purpose & Scope: Operates the Hospital telephone, voice paging, radio paging and security radio systems. Must respond to and appropriately handle all codes and alarms terminating in the communications office. Must perform messaging tasks for staff as appropriate. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience: One year of telephone operator (PBX) experience is preferred. Certification/Licensure: None.
