Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for monitoring the safety and well-being of persons served in the IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) residential services program.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducts and documents (in Therapy) monthly head to toe assessments of each residential client in their home.Maintains communication with agency management and the client's support team including reporting and documenting all changes in client's health status and needs, consulting with supervisors regarding emergent care and acute medical needs.Ensures needs for staff supervision/delegation or specialized instruction are conducted and documented on the designation form (Delegation of Specialized Nursing Tasks).Accountability and documentation for Activities dedicated to functions of Residential RN each month including:Completion of the Monthly Service Log which details time spent performing Residential RN functions each month.Ensuring annual authorized units are delivered and documented.Completion of Residential RN Orientation Training as provided by local Department of Mental Health (DMH) Regional Offices and ongoing additional training that affects Residential RN program as required by DMH.Completes Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) every 3 to 6 months (or more often if needed) for clients at risk of developing tardive dyskinesia (TD).If assigned, attends Level 1 Med Aide Instructor's class as provided by the Department of Health and Senior Services and provides Level 1 Med Aide training according to contractual requirements to employees as requested by the Regional Director.If assigned, completes Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) duties including:completing HRST training through DMH,initial evaluation and completion of Health Risk Screening Tool for each residential client,maintain Electronic Medical Record in DMH database system for all residential clients,attend Individual Support Plan meetings for residential clients,attend transition and discharge meetings from hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, etc.Assists Regional Director (RD) in responding to HIPS (Health Identification and Planning System) Reviews, Mortality Reviews and other Nursing Reviews by the Regional Office in a timely manner that meets contractual guidelines.Adheres to PFH Policy and Procedure.Acts as an advocate for persons served.Completes other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Must be a currently registered, licensed registered nurse in the State of Missouri

Required License/Certification (one of the following):

Current Missouri license as RN
