Cook- Relief

Status: Part-time, 24 hours weekly.

Schedule: Monday to Sunday. Every other weekend required.

Shift: Works: Works 8.5 hour shifts between 5:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Starting at $15.45 per hour.

Location: Butterworth Hospital, 100 Michigan St. NE Grand Rapids. MI

Passionate about creating great food options for our patients, guest and team members. Our Cooks are a key component in the product and execution of all hot and cold meals served in our restaurants, room service, and grab & go markets. These components are Line cooking, Prep cooking, Vegetable prep, Short order cooking, Catering, and Mise en Place.

Essential Functions

Assembles and prepares ingredients for cooking by cleaning and cutting.Follows standardized recipes, calculation ingredients based on weight and volume.Records temperatures correctly on temperature log sheets. Responsible to replace food items that do not fit standards.Stores food items as required, labeling and dating items per standards. Utilizes leftovers within allotted time.Sets up steam tables on patient and cafeteria tray lines.Communicates with other staff members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred Vocational/Technical Vocational courses in food preparation1 year of relevant experience in food preparation/serving Preferred
