Mountain View Hospital is looking for a CT/Radiologic Technologist to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The CT/Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the daily organization of activities in the CT and Radiology department. Performs CT, radiographic, and fluoroscopic exams and procedures for the Radiologist to interpret and to aid the physician in diagnosing the patient.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CT/ Radiologic Technologist:

Interviews the patient prior to testing and analyzes the patient’s general body size, physical condition, age and medical history to accurately apply radiographic procedures; improvises positions and techniques accordingly. Sets, adjusts and controls a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. Operates portable machines on patient floors and units; and in the operating room. Assesses technical quality of radiographs before giving such to the Radiologist; performs repeats as necessary. Performs a variety of CT procedures independently and in accordance with existing policies and procedures including, but not limited to; enhanced and non-enhanced head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spinal and extremity exams. Render advanced post processing image data on a work station for reconstruction and evaluation purposes. Completes proper and comprehensive patient screening prior to CT examination and IV contrast administration. Documents appropriate skill in starting IV’s for contrast administration and drawing blood for pre-contrast screening as needed. Administers intravenous injections of contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist. Documents appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care. Assesses technical quality of exams before giving such to the Radiologist; performs repeats as necessary. Answers questions and provides information to center customers, including nursing staff, physicians and the general public on computed radiographic procedures, cross-sectional anatomy and physiology and radiation safety practices. Troubleshoots technical problems and works with the vendors to resolve problems that arise. Maintains flexibility as department grows, with a willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department director. Demonstrates age-specific competency for the following groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Completes all annual mandatory education requirements (including hospital, department, and job specific competencies). Attends the required number of staff meetings per department standard. Has documented proof of current professional licensure and/or all required certifications. Adheres to Patient Rights Policy and patient confidentiality standards. Willing to do assignments, cross-training, or tasks within the scope of his/her job description, as asked by manager, which are deemed necessary to meet the needs of the department.
