Data Analyst II

The Data Analyst II will help our organization turn data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions.  This role will involve close collaboration with various teams within the organization to ensure data-driven decision making.  The main responsibilities of the Data Analyst II role include acting as a liaison between the Data and Analytics and Data Science teams and our internal customers, developing requirements for data specific projects or other efforts impacting our data infrastructure, documenting and testing data solutions, and helping to prioritize our Data and Analytics work backlog.  You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, reliability, and performance for analytics, reporting, and data science purposes.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to data-driven decision-making within the organization.

This role contributes to and may lead project data-related efforts, provides support to business partners, project managers, Scrum Masters, and vendor resources involved in project execution.  They will lead requirements gathering and analysis efforts on small to medium projects.  They will coordinate and attend meetings as needed.  Complete and track action items and deliverables.  Attention to detail, organization, communication, and self-initiative are key skills for this role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, computer science, information management, or statistics, or equivalent education and/or work experience preferred.

Experience: 3+ years direct work experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or other similar capacity.

Possess a high-level understanding of modern data warehouse/lake/lakehouse architectures.Strong knowledge of data gathering, cleaning, and transforming techniques.Demonstrated experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. MS-SQL).Awareness of other semi-structured data formats (e.g. Parquet, JSON, XML).Awareness of modern data technologies and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).Demonstrated experience with reporting and dashboarding tools such as PowerBI or Informatica.

Travel: 5-10%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Meets with business customers to help understand and document their needs for data, analytics, and AI.Implements data quality checks and monitoring to identify and rectify data inconsistencies or anomalies.Collaborates with internal business customers to understand and document their data requirements.Translates data findings into understandable documents and reports.Works closely with the data team to design and implement data solutions.Presents data-driven recommendations to the team and stakeholders.Informally mentors junior data team members.Actively participates in a data governance Center of ExcellencePerforms other related duties as required and assigned.
