Roush is looking to hire an enthusiastic Diesel Mechanic II who will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The selected candidate will work independently on a variety of projects in accordance with customer instructions and expectations.  As a Diesel Mechanic II at Roush, you will be part of a team working on prototype/durability experimental trucks.in a new, clean, state of the art facility with a small team of mechanics and CDL Drivers. This position is in Madras, Oregon and requires the swing / afternoon shift 2:30 PM to 11 PM.

As a Diesel Mechanic II, you will be responsible for:

Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspectionsRepair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.Read, interpret, and follow service proceduresMaintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair ordersKeep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsParticipate in daily shop organization and clean-upTo be considered as a Diesel Mechanic II, you will need:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of work experience as a Diesel MechanicKnowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipmentGood attention to detail and organizational skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamYour own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekendsAbility to read, comprehend and execute written proceduresAbility to work swing / afternoon shift 2:30 PM to 11 PMPreferred qualifications:Certificate in Diesel Technology or relatedNational Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)State Diesel Mechanic Certification(s)Valid driver’s licenseKnowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
