Dietary Aide - Lakeview Hospital

Your job is more than a job.

The Dietary Aide is responsible for performing kitchen and food service duties in both the cafeteria and on the patient food line. Serving and delivering food, cleaning/sanitation, cold food preparation and assembly, maintaining a sanitary and organized work area.

Your every day

Food Tray Line:

Assembles all utensils, food serving supplies and food items necessary for the serving line.Assembles patient snacks and serves on the patient tray line. Stocks the patient tray line accurately according to the dietary pull lists.Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food.Delivers patient meal trays/carts.Retrieves dirty patient trays according to schedule.Performs dish room duties in a sanitary manner, including completing the dish room temperature log.Sets up stations with breads, condiments and utensils.

Cafeteria Service:

Serves on the cafeteria food and sandwich lines including following appropriate portion sizes. Assembles the cafeteria items and maintains well-stocked food items during cafeteria service. Serves, replenishes food from counters, steam tables and breaks down station at the end of meal periods.

Cleaning/Sanitation:

Adheres to and follows HACCP Guidelines.Cleans service ware, kitchen equipment and counters properly according to established standards, ensuring adequate supply of plates and utensils.Cleans and sanitizes the assigned serving area thoroughly. Cleans and sanitizes any carts used during the shift. Serves food in a sanitary manner including frequent hand washing and glove changing.

Maintaining Quality Control:

Sets up and maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate efficiency and ensure food safety. Stores all food items properly until appropriate mealtime.
Performs additional special cleaning duties as needed and/or assigned including dish room, removal of trash, etc.Assists the superiors as needed to maintain a well-run department.

Your must haves

High School Diploma or GED or 2 years of experience in food service.Able to serve food in a friendly and sanitary manner.Able to read patient menus.Able to operate and work in the dish room and maintain daily temperature records.Able to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull carts weighing greater than 50 lbs.Considerable reaching, stooping and bending.
