The Position

Join NorthStar Anesthesia, where we are transforming nurse anesthesia education and recruitment. As the active force behind our academic affairs programs, you will lead initiatives to expand our network of affiliated programs, enhance the training experiences of our SRNAs, and attract top talent to join us as NorthStar CRNAs.

Here's how you will succeed:

In partnership with the Chief Anesthetist Officer, you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of our academic affairs program.You will be our internal and external ambassador and evangelist for this program. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including nurse anesthesia programs, site leaders/clinical coordinators, recruiting, legal, and others to expand the number of affiliations and SRNA rotations. You will lead the effort to improve our ability to recruit new graduate CRNAs by ensuring our SRNAs have outstanding clinical and cultural experiences. You will identify SRNA engagement and recruiting activities to position NorthStar as the employer of choice for CRNAs in key markets/facilities. You will identify opportunities to enhance our ability to capture a significant portion of the new graduate CRNA market share, which will help us distance ourselves from our competitors in this space because our strategy is smarter, and we are relentlessly focused on execution. You will analyze data and identify problems and opportunities.You will utilize your exceptional clinical skills and expertise to independently administer anesthesia for a variety of medical and surgical procedures, practicing clinically approximately 50% of the time.

Leadership characteristics and background we are looking for:

You must be a critical thinker and problem solver, able to think strategically and operationally.You must be prepared to own this program, as the Chief Anesthetist Officer will be your trusted thought partner, cheerleader, and coach – not a hand holder.You must be able to execute and develop processes and systems to ensure we are relentlessly focused on execution. Success is 10% strategy and 90% execution. You must be action-oriented and prepared to move with velocity, valuing progress over perfection.You must be able to deal with difficult people occasionally. It happens.You must be humble.You must be data-oriented, making decisions based on data rather than anecdotes or hunches.You must be a good communicator, both written and verbal, with some experience managing people and/or programs being ideal.You must stay clinically proficient and actively engaged.You must possess Chief-level or equivalent leadership experience, although we prioritize mindset and cultural alignment in our hiring process. You must maintain CRNA certification in good standing with the NBCRNA and the state Board of Nursing.
