Equipment Coordinator
Overview SUMMARY This position is responsible for assisting the Equipment Superintendent in planning, tracking, scheduling, and sourcing equipment maintenance and parts purchasing. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Understand, practice, and continually lead by example Doyon Associated’s commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture. Create equipment delivery priority lists with input from Superintendents. Coordinate equipment parts movements between and among fabrication facilities, freight haulers, client warehouse and lay down areas. Provide equipment status reports to project management and supervision. Work closely with Equipment Superintendent and Master Mechanic equipment needs. Accurately track equipment parts ordered and received. With input from project supervision and the Equipment Superintendent, create equipment readiness schedules detailed to piece of equipment. Manage and update the repair schedules on a weekly basis. Report status to project team. Negotiate repair costs and approve repair expenses up to an authorized limit; secure rental vehicles when required Manage Company’s equipment database for tracking hours and scheduling maintenance. Align repair costs with potential warranty coverages. Locate and obtaining pricing, including freight, for potential sources of new equipment. Follow up on completed maintenance and repairs to ensure all service issues are resolved, vendor invoices are received, and repair/inspection documentation is obtained and filed Other duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS Must have excellent working knowledge of pipeline construction equipment in Arctic conditions. Knowledge and ability to effectively work in a corporate purchase order system and equipment management software. Ability to accurately interpret equipment descriptions to ensure receipt of correct materials, equipment, and parts. Ability to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules. Listens carefully and asks questions to understand views, concerns, and comments of others. Ability to proactively work in a high paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to set and achieve goals and meet deadlines. Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Minimum 5-10 years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair on North Slope Pipeline Construction Projects. High proficiency with Microsoft Office and equipment tracking software. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25+ pounds. Sit for extended amounts of time. Operate personal computer for extended periods. Work extended hours (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends), occasionally, as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
