Facility Cleaning Specialist - Part-Time

Job Description

This position is based in Anchorage but will primarily perform deep cleaning services to facilities throughout Alaska. Position is part-time and involves non-traditional schedules with overnight stays.

Employee is required to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Cleans offices, public spaces, industrial areas, warehouses, exterior areas, and additional areas as required.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extract, waxes, buff, vacuums, etc. all types of floors.

Cleans carpets

Dusts both low and high areas using ladders and lifts.

Wipes down or cleans various surfaces to include walls and ceilings.

Cleans windows.

Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks.

Removes and properly disposes of discarded materials.

Removes and transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas.

May change light bulbs and perform very light facility maintenance.

May perform painting

May operate a vehicle

Position requires routine weekly, overnight stays within the State of Alaska with travel by aircraft

Other related duties may also be assigned.

Qualifications

Some combination or education or experience that evidences a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes. Experience in facility maintenance and painting preferred

A valid Alaskan driver’s license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Position requires successful screening through multiple background and security checks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is regularly required to hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb, and balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; and talk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and work at elevated heights.
