13317BRDepartment Name:HSP Family Health Education Location:McConnell Hall Job Description:The Family Health Educator is a committed individual who provides health education and support services to the community in the areas of Family Health, focusing on parenting/infant care and related topics. This position provides a crucial link to the hospital and prepares families for childbirth, their hospital stay, and early postpartum period in our family-centered care environment before they transition home. This position will provide flexibility in scheduling. Required Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or coursework in nursing, health care, or health management. + Experience in Postpartum or Labor and Delivery + Experience teaching parenting programs, infant education and safety + Educational preparation in principles and theory of adult education. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience with technology. + Ability to work effectively in a team and group setting. + Teaching with organizational principles in mind and with an understanding of hospital policies and procedures. + Able to incorporate different methods of learning into groups, including the use of all types of audio-visual equipment. + Remains current with all learning applications, evaluations, and meetings throughout the year. Preferred Qualifications: + RN License and/or experience in obstetrics, labor and delivery and postpartum.
