Position Summary:

This project is an incrementally launched, 1000’ long, steel composite bridge on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska, South of Anchorage.  The project is anticipated to last approximately 4-5 years and entails large-diameter drilled shafts, substructure concrete, steel plate girder pre-assembly and launching, and a cast-in-place concrete deck.  The location is remote in nature, with an approximate 1-hour drive to the nearest town. We are seeking individuals interested in becoming part of a small, tight-knit, highly driven group with the protection and success of the team at the forefront.

 

Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing the bridge's construction.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction Procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, safety training and orientation of new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods. Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports Manages Foremen who supervise craft field employees. Is responsible for this group's overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. May also directly supervise non-supervisory employees Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.  Ability to relocate as needed
