Finance and Risk Specialist
**Finance & Risk Specialist** Allied Mineral Products, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently seeking a **Finance and Risk Accountant** who will be responsible for a variety of tasks for finance, accounting and corporate risk. Primary responsibilities include heavy involvement in the annual budgeting and planning process, insurance renewal, claims administration and reporting. This position reports to and will work closely with the Assistant Controller and will assist in ensuring that the company has minimized risk and controlled costs, which will be achieved through proper planning and managing adherence to the budget. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting or related field. + Three to five (3 to 5) years of experience in finance and/or accounting preferred. + Experience working with corporate insurance and claims management preferred. + Strong analytical skills. + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. + Critical thinking + Complex problem solving + Judgement and decision making + Intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency with MS Office. + Proficiency with SAP preferred. + Proficiency with FP&A software preferred. + Strong organizational and time management skills. + Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with both internal and external parties. + Detail oriented and task driven. + Demonstrate a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism. + Ability to work in fast-paced environment. + Ability to meet deadlines and handle time sensitive issues. **Key Duties** : + Support corporate treasury activities. + Support corporate FP&A activities. + Provide financial support for the annual budget process. + Assist with the renewal and administration of corporate insurance program, including liability, property, auto and various other coverages, and certificates of insurance. + Administration of insurance claims, including but not limited to property damage, general liability, and motor vehicles. + Technical resource and problem resolution for support staff, sales and field personnel, and business units on insurance claims issues. + Accounting resource for monthly close process, responsible for certain journal entries, account reconciliations, financial review and variance analysis. + Holding company accounting, investment accounting, prepaid insurance, allowance for doubtful accounts and loan repayment. + Provide financial support for the annual external financial audit, including financial review, schedule preparation and analysis. + Administration of corporate card program, including providing assistance to cardholders and fraud prevention. + Back-up support for various accounting department tasks, including but not limited to vendor maintenance, new customer credit verifications and order releases. + Completion and submission of compliance surveys. + Suggests improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency when deficiencies are detected. + Perform other duties and special projects as requested. **Allied offers competitive wages, health, dental, STD, LTD and ESOP retirement plan and profit sharing.
