Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Food Stores Clerk - Full Time, Days (8AM - 4PM, Monday through Friday).

In this role, the successful candidate This position works independently and is the primary person responsible for maintaining all Nutritional Services food and non-food supplies in accordance with HACCP guidelines and department standards and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

Receives deliveries. Checks products against purchase orders.  ( i.e. Miss picks are noted, discrepancies are found.) Work is performed in a timely manner- inventories completed when needed for ordering, all items are put away during shift. Accurate inventory- counts are correct, inventory completed in a timely fashion. Inventory rotated using First in First out (FIFO) method. Informs Manager or Director of missing items or damaged goods.

Stores and maintains departmental supplies according to HACCP guidelines.

Refrigerated and frozen items stored promptly- maintaining HACCP standards.  Stock rotated, “first-in-first-out”, optimum storage placement. Perishables maintained under proper conditions and temperature.

 

Inventories all products as required.

Accurate inventory. Notification of shortages. Products dated and labeled.

 

Aids in pulling products from all storage areas for production and operational needs.

Cooperative to staff in pulling or providing assistance in securing supplies- inquiries if supplies are needed and supports personnel in their production assignments.

 

Removes boxes, crates and other storage containers from storeroom.  Storeroom maintained according to standards.

Refuse removed and storeroom clean and free of extraneous material throughout the day. Sanitation schedule followed and storage areas clean and neat.

 

Performs other activities within the department as directed.

Cooperative and sensitive to operational needs- supports the production and utility functions when needed.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High school diploma or equivalency.
Able to lift 50 pounds at one time and stand for 70-80% of workday.
Maintain adequate HACCP records incompliance with DOH and DNV standard.
Able to read and check in weekly orders according to invoice requisitions.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $42,999.99 - $50,505.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
