Tow Motor Driver Under the directions of the Production Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for ensuring the safe packing and shipment of glass and other materials to be distributed to customers. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Keeps scheduled raw glass staged at cutting and grinding operations. Maintains racks assigned to W.I.P. floats and assets. Delivers raw and W.I.P. glass to correct locations. Assisting in departmental housekeeping, maintaining a clean and orderly workstation. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have the ability to utilize hand tools including air hammers. Ability to read, write and understand verbal instructions. Must have ability to do simple calculations. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to drive a tow motor and maintain appropriate certification. DIFFICULTY OF WORK Work is of some complexity requiring a moderate degree of decision making in the application of procedures and methods in determining appropriate remedies for varied and diverse set-up problems. Work is performed under the direction of the shift supervisor, with periodic review of assignments. PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS Incumbent has contact with other plant team members, customers, and others employed throughout the Lippert organization. Tact and diplomacy must be used during all contacts. The purposes of these contacts are to exchange information and provide service relative to the status and quality of products. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Incumbents will be exposed to a standard warehouse/shipping environment. He/she will normally be riding a forklift, walking or standing with some lifting, bending and twisting while stocking/transferring goods. The ability to lift up to 45 lbs. is essential to the process. Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary in position.
