Kleinfelder is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region.  The location is flexible with preference to our Exton, PA; Cranberry, PA; or Bridgeport, WV.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a role where they can execute project work, partner with senior geotechnical engineers, provide mentorship to junior staff, collaborate with multidiscipline teams, and engage with clients.

 

Our team works on challenging and interesting projects across all markets, but generally focused on energy related clients. We work on electric transmission lines, substations, solar power facilities, gas infrastructure and pipelines, HDD installations, commercial structures, deep excavations, and more.

  

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering and 8 to 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering consulting.  Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional Geologist license is preferred.

 

We are looking for someone with the ability to provide technical and field support on complex projects. On the job you would be expected to: 

Coordinate with multidiscipline team to prepare proposals and execute projects;Safely coordinate and execute field exploration programs, construction observation, and associated documentation;Complete engineering analysis including: soil and rock classification; shallow and deep foundation capacity, immediate and consolidation settlement; slope stability analysis, geohazard evaluation, ground improvement, and earth retention systems;Partner with internal and external multidisciplinary teams during project development;Prepare Geotechnical Engineering reports;Prepare construction specifications and drawings;Be actively involved during the construction phase of projects;Positively interact with client representatives; and Development of scope of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules. 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering or geology.PE and/or PG is preferred, but not required.8 to 10 years of geotechnical/geological engineering experience.Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.Ability to work independently and with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.Strong written and oral communication skills.Working knowledge of standard business software including MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.Experience with geotechnical software packages including L-Pile, Uni-pile, SHAFT, gINT, GRL WEAP, GEO STUDIO, and FAD preferred.Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required.
