AWS is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive Global Integrated Facilities Team (GIFT) Americas Engineering Manager to drive engineering solutions which meet strict quality and performance levels across the globe. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the best practices for service-oriented product delivery and has extensive experience within the arena of domestic and international data center delivery.
As a Global Integrated Facilities Team (GIFT) Americas Engineering Manager, you will work in conjunction with Principle engineers, data center engineers, architects and other key stakeholders to lead data center solutions through the design, planning, development and delivery phases. All while maintaining the highest performance standards and utilizing innovation to reduce budgets and increase efficiency. A Global Integrated Facilities Team (GIFT) Americas Engineering Manager, must have experience in the evaluation of different systems and development of new systems, across multiple disciplines and regions. Experience in troubleshooting, operation and preventative maintenance of mission-critical facilities, associated MEP components is preferable.
Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. The Data Center Engineering (DCE) business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus.
You will lead a team that will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource and you will use your subject matter expertise to engage with diverse teams to:
· Own, Review, and approve design solutions for new and existing data centers, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
· Interface with internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
· Act as resident engineers during the deployment of new engineering solutions. Supporting design, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
· Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
· Assist with troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and for site/equipment failures.
· Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.

As a manager, you will be expected to:

· Create and improve metrics, drive efficiencies in repeatable work
· Influence team strategy and identify growth opportunities
· Make trade-offs on competing business needs using high judgement

· Possess strong engineering judgement and are able to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
· Are detail and data oriented
· Have experience managing engineering projects and consultants.
· Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g. Principles, Design, Operations, Commissioning and Construction)
· Open to travel 25% of the time

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will prioritize your activities to support data center capacity, availability and safety, focusing on the actions that are most impactful. You will have the opportunity to work on projects on a regional and global scale.
