SUMMARY

Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a Janitor for a contract in Olney, MD. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning bathrooms and kitchensDusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning windowsPolishing and detailing stainless steelVarious floor work to include stripping and waxing, buffing, and sealing floors Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.1 year of previous janitorial and/or housekeeping experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance and to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics          

The ability to provide excellent janitorial and/or housekeeping servicesThe ability to be able to effectively communicate and work with a variety of people including, but not limited to, the public, government employees, and other contractors as needed.Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting / maintenance room with exposure to computer screens and HVAC / electrical equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervising responsibilities are not a requirement of this position.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
