There are a variety of positions at our parks and lodges that range from skilled technicians to skilled trades. We’re hiring Kitchen Equipment Technicians and a Park-wide Kitchen Technician to Live. Job Summary: The Engineering/Maintenance team is responsible for opening properties prior to guest arrival, maintenance and repair during the season and closing properties at the end of the season. Kitchen Equipment Technicians will maintain commercial kitchen and beverage equipment in satisfactory operating condition. The Details: Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates:March/April 2024 - October/November 2024 Pay: $20.50 - $22.50/hour (dependent on experience and position) Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Yellowstone National Park? Benefits and Perks: Free Employee Recreation Program (recreation centers, athletics, gear rentals, seminars, van trips, hiking, and more) Employee discounts on retail, food & beverage, lodging, and activities in Yellowstone Employee discounts at local gateway communities Access to maintained campgrounds and back country campsites inside and around the park Over 1,000 miles of hiking trails inside the park itself Fresh air, breathtaking views, and clear night skies World-class wildlife viewing of bison, elk, moose, wolves, bears, and more Approximately 500 geysers (the largest concentration in the world) and hot springs, including Grand Prismatic, the third largest in the world Responsibilities Park-wide Kitchen Technician Maintain commercial kitchen and beverage equipment in satisfactory operating condition Assist in the training of Food and Beverage Department personnel in the proper operation of kitchen equipment Train General Maintenance Technicians in basic troubleshooting and repair of kitchen equipment Accurately document labor and materials expended in the maintenance and repair of equipment Conduct routine periodic inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation Bring equipment on-line and conduct operational tests as the facilities open for the season; ensure equipment is properly laid-up at the end of the season Kitchen Equipment Technician Maintain commercial kitchen and beverage equipment in satisfactory operating condition Assist in the training of Food and Beverage Department personnel in the proper operation of kitchen equipment Train General Maintenance Technicians in basic troubleshooting and repair of kitchen equipment Accurately document labor and materials expended in the maintenance and repair of equipment Conduct routine periodic inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation Bring equipment on-line and conduct operational tests as the facilities open for the season; ensure equipment is properly laid-up at the end of the season Qualifications Park-wide Kitchen Equipment Technician Aptitude required to complete common mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance Proficient in the operation and use of equipment and tools common to kitchen equipment maintenance and repair Working knowledge and hands-on experience with drive systems (gear, belt and chain), bearings, flexible couplings, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, valves and valve actuators Working knowledge and hands-on experience with plumbing, steam and electrical systems Possess personal computer skills sufficient to efficiently work with the Microsoft Office Software Suite and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in company-specific software General knowledge of OSHA requirements and the use of personal protective equipment Ability to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures Capable of and willing to advance his or her technical knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training and self-study Capable and willing to mentor and train less experienced Maintenance Technicians and Tradesmen Kitchen Equipment Technician: The aptitude required to complete common mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance Proficient in the operation and use of equipment and tools common to kitchen equipment maintenance and repair Working knowledge and hands-on experience with drive systems (gear, belt and chain), bearings, flexible couplings, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, valves and valve actuators Working knowledge and hands-on experience with plumbing, steam and electrical systems Personal computer skills to efficiently work with the Microsoft Office Software Suite and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in company-specific software A general knowledge of OSHA requirements and the use of personal protective equipment Ability to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures Capable of and willing to advance his or her technical knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training and self-study Physical Requirements: May require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds Physical stamina to withstand heavy labor related work in an outside environment Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, for extended periods of time are required Must be at least 19 years old and have valid driver’s license; good driving record required We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
