Experience with tissue culture work is essential. Experience maintaining hiPSCs specifically is highly desirable. Strong technical expertise in standard cellular and molecular biology including, but not limited to, histological analysis via in situ hybridization or immunohistochemistry, light, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) isolation, qRT-PCR, and basic cloning and analysis are required.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (1) Design, perform, and oversee experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance within the scope of multiple projects. (2) Performance of experiments in the areas of reprogramming, maintenance, CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing of hiPSCs, and cell culture of 3D retinal organoids from hiPSCs. (3) Analysis of experimental data and interpretation of results; compilation of results; writing reports and summaries of findings; preparing data, graphs, and tables to properly document experimental results for publication. (4) Ensure proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotion of continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
