Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job The Department of Art at Sam Houston State University invites applications for part-time lecturer-pool faculty to teach a course entitled Professional and Social Practice in the MFA in Art & Social Practice program. We are seeking a candidate with the ability to teach 1 class online in Fall 2024. In this course emphasis is placed on grant writing as well as developing proposals for projects and exhibitions that emphasize community engagement and participation. Students in the course will be encouraged to organize and promote public dissemination of their work. Educational Requirements for the Position Candidates must possess an MFA or terminal degree in a related field and demonstrate outstanding potential in research and/or creative activity. Experience Required for the Position Applicants who work within the field of social practice as artists, curators, and organizers who can provide opportunities to expand students’ professional network are preferred.
