Maintains cleanliness and safety in work areaSets up and runs machines/tooling  Sets up and runs machines/tooling  Perform calibration of standard measuring equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, tooling as directedCompletes paperwork such as scrap sheets, up-issues, logs, data gathering, first/last piece                 inspection reportProvides training to employeesPerforms required machine preventive maintenanceTroubleshoots equipment, machine and process problemsUse computer for production related functionsUse appropriate PPE for the task assignedOther duties as assigned

Qualifications:  Graduate of a Machine Tool Program and/or experienced in the setup and operation of CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.  Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the company will make its internal selection on the basis of the most senior qualified employee taking into account ability, experience and training.  Internal candidates must pass an aptitude test as part of the recruitment process. Outside candidates are required to fill out an application, participate in an interview (if selected for this) and successfully complete aptitude test as part of the recruitment process. The employee must successfully complete a 60 day probationary period. 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:

Demonstrate strong working knowledge of CNC, VMC and Mazak work centersAbility to use standard measuring equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, tooling as directedCandidates should have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong communication skillsRead and understand basic statistical process control principlesUnderstand basic math principlesRead and understand a blueprint/printsUse a computer to enter data and obtain dataFollow written or oral instructionsUse hand and power toolsCommunicate effectively orally and in writingWork with and around chemicals and other materials, having exposures within acceptable limitsAttention to detail

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:  Two-year degree in Machine Tool Program or related field is required.  This position is designated as a hazardous materials/waste handler.

A hazardous materials/waste handler may utilize/generate hazardous material/waste in the course of their daily tasks and have the following responsibilities:Ensuring the proper handling, packaging, and storage of hazardous material/waste generatedEducation/Qualification requirements are to include attending the training specified in introductory and continuous training sections below                                                                                                     Introductory Training: Classroom training to include proper classification, handling, storage requirements, emergency procedures and equipment, to be completed before commencing in hazardous material/waste activities                                                                            Continuous Training: Annual classroom update and refresher of the content described in Introductory Training
