The successful candidate should hold a DMP or PhD degree in Medical Physics or related field. Preference will be given to candidates that have a strong clinical and research background and are ABR certified or eligible for certification. Faculty rank and tenure status will be determined on the qualification of the final candidate. UT Health MD Anderson Cancer Center is recognized as an NCI Designated Cancer Center, and is located in San Antonio, Texas, near the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The center is equipped with two in-house CT simulators with 4D capabilities. The division of Medical Physics maintains five linear accelerations, including a Novalis Tx unit and four ELEKTA VersaHD. Our brachytherapy program includes HDR for gyn a soon prostate implants and LDR for eye plaques. There are several active clinical and research programs in the areas of IMRT, SGRT, SRS, SBRT, Monte Carlo simulation, 4D treatment planning, IGRT and adaptive radiotherapy. The Division of Medical Physics has currently 5 faculty medical physicists, 4 dosimetrists, 14 doctoral students (PhD and DMP track), 2 medical physics residents, and 2 dosimetry students. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work well in a strong team environment and have excellent communication skills UT Health San Antonio has two CAMPEP accredited graduate medical physics program (PhD and DMP tracks), a CAMPEP accredited medical physics residency program, and a dosimetry program which is accredited by JRCERT. It is expected from the new faculty member to teach courses both in the graduate and the dosimetry schools, and to mentor DMP, doctoral students and medical physics residents. The candidate is also expected to be active in research and to successfully pursue extramural funding. TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers. Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year plus three floating holidays, which can be used anytime during the fiscal year.
