Primary Position Purpose:

As a Midlevel SQL Engineer at U.S. Xpress, you'll be integral in developing, optimizing, and overseeing our operational SQL databases and server-based solutions. Your role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, designing and implementing sophisticated database structures, and ensuring the highest levels of data integrity and security.

 

Position Functions:

Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance SQL databases. Crafting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex SQL statements to meet application development and data analysis requirements. Implementing robust data security and protection measures in compliance with privacy regulations. Database performance optimization through effective indexing, query tuning, and server settings adjustment. Leading and executing data migration and integration projects with precision and minimal operational impact. Working collaboratively with development teams to seamlessly integrate SQL databases with business applications. Proactively identifying and resolving database issues; ensuring system reliability and efficiency. Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.Attend all in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives. Participate in such discussions by offering input and advice.Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication, and expectationMentoring junior SQL developers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in database development and management practices
