POSITION:                           Mold Prep/Parts Puller

DEPARTMENT:                  Lamination Department

REPORTS TO:                     Lamination Team Lead

GRADE:                                3-entry level $18.50; 1-3 years experience - $19.50; 3-5 years $20.50

BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

A Mold Prepper/ Puller performs a wide variety of fiberglass lamination tasks which include mold prepping.

Position Overview

Clean excess debris from molds and preps molds for gel coatingInspects molds and notes defects for repairWipe down molds with mold releasePulls parts from the moldsOperates forklifts, hoist as neededPerforms other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

High School Education or GED requiredFiberglass mold experience preferredFiberglass lamination experience preferredAbility to work a 10 hour shift standing, bending and reaching  

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to adapt to changing requirements in a positive and proactive wayAbility to work in hot and dusty environmentAbility to operate forklifts and hoists as neededMust be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.Must be able to use proper technique when pulling parts to user employee safety

Safety Requirements:

Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their supervisor immediatelyMust understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agenciesMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test and physically wear a respirator where requiredMust be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, standing, etc. with or without reasonable accommodationMust be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety CommitmentMust be able to lift up to 50 # throughout the shift

Shift:  This position is for first shift, 5:30am – 3:30pm (Mon-Thurs). Overtime frequently required based on business needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and times as business needs arise.      

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
