The **Network Architect** serves as the design and implementation lead responsible for the configuration, implementation and maintenance of information technology network services. Proactively looks for improvement opportunities throughout the network and coaches team members in the best approaches for troubleshooting, planning and change implementation. Leads the team in responding to requests for network services and solutions related to outages, change control or other network issues and projects. **Specific duties include, but are not limited to:** + Provides support when systems failures occur and works with internal (andoutsourced) network operation/engineering teams, and other serviceproviders to restore failed systems. + Develops architectural design diagrams to explain the interplay of systemsand network components supporting the computing and informationexchange. + Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify key functional andnon-functional requirements for supporting data exchange among systems;converts requirements into goal-state network architectures. + Supervises and supports team members through the execution of changemanagement cycles to improve existing network reliability and to safelyimplement goal-state network architectures. + Researches new industry capabilities for suitability toward accomplishingAkumin goals. + Maintains and expands vendor relationships relevant to Akumin’s networkinghardware and software footprint. + Other duties as assigned by management. **Position Requirements:** + Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience. + 8 - 10 plus years’ experience in IT Infrastructure deployments and maintenance. + Experience with firewalls, VPNs, routing, access control lists, and switching. + Experience with DHCP, DNS and common troubleshooting tools such as nslookup and ping. + 12% travel is required. **Preferred:** + Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Information Technology, Science (i.e: biology, physics, etc.). + Cisco or other vendor-related certifications (e.g. CCNA). + Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer or Cloud Architect. + Experience with routers and switches, including VLANs and BGP. + Experience with Velo, Cisco and Palo Alto device. + Experience with MPLS and SD-WAN architectures. + Experience designing and implementing networks using Google Cloud Platform. **Physical Requirements:** Standard Office Environment.
