Nurse Educator- Research and Evidence Based Practice

This unique nurse scholar role requires significant research and evidence translation experience. The role supports the prestigious Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Nursing Research and Evidence Based Practice Program. As part of the campus Professional Practice team, this role also aligns with system programs for Nursing Research, Implementation Science, and Evidence Based Practice Fellowships. 

This team member also supports doctoral students’ projects including PICO writing, IRB submissions. Love of writing and knowledge of research and EBP- is a must. Other duties include support in abstract and manuscript submissions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages Nurse Residency Program evidence based practice (EBP) project completion and dissemination for all new graduate nurses Facilitates IFMC Nursing Research and EBP Sub Council Supports all campus Nursing EBP, Research, and Implementation Science Fellows. Oversees all campus doctoral and graduate quality improvement, EBP, research proposals and projects and ensures alignment with organizations strategic aims Provides scholarly writing expertise and supports dissemination of scholarly activities through publication in peer reviewed journals and presentations at region and national conferences.  Contributes to clinical inquiry and guides teams to develop and implement quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives to support quality patient outcomes. Supports graduate nursing students in scholarly project implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic aims.

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday day shift


Requirements:

MSN Degree from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in nursing-prefer experience in research and evidence-based practice.   Research/ Evidence translation experience preferred. BLS for healthcare provider from the American Heart Association. Licensed or eligible for licensing in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. General nursing skill sets. Ability to work in various clinical settings. Prefer: Ability to work across multiple clinical service lines. Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills required.
