Nurse Practitioner Psychiatric
***WE ARE OFFERING A $3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR A PART-TIME NPP!*** As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for evaluating and providing care for youth with psychiatric disorders, medical mental health issues/conditions, substance abuse problems. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide emergency psychiatric services, psychosocial and physical assessment of their patients, treatment plans and continually manage their care including psychotherapy and prescribing medication. Psychiatric NPs diagnose patient conditions and their causes. Responsibilities: + Analyze and evaluate patient data, behavior or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder and to assess treatments + Screen patients for physical illness and analyze explanations for psychiatric illness, such as developmental issues, family dysfunction, genetics, neurological trauma or social or cultural problems. + Perform assessment of risk factors for mental illness and broader wellness issues + Initiate referrals for neurological and other specialist consultations including psychological testing as needed + Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrist, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress. + Attend and participate in staff and treatment meetings, provide consultation, to the treatment team about clinical issues, and participate in agency committees or work groups as deemed appropriate + Communicate clearly and accurately with clients, visitors, and colleagues displaying friendly, helpful behavior. Use judgment and tact especially when communicating sensitive information. Displays sensitivity to the needs of clients, visitors and colleagues treating everyone with consideration, courtesy and respect. + Assist in the education of patient, family members and staff about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans. + Provide psychopharmacology consultation and intervention, including prescription of psychotropic and relevant pediatric medications. Evaluates the effectiveness of prescribed medication while considering potential negative side effects. + Complete all documentation regarding all assessment in a timely and competent manner. + Knowledge of and adhere to federal, state, and local statues, regulatory agency standards and Hillside policies, including but not limited to OMH, CPS DSS, JCAHO , SED, OSHA regulations. Requirements: + Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing or another related field of study + Licensed NYS Registered Nurse + Licensed NYS Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric Nursing + 1+ years of experience practicing child and/or adolescent psychiatry + 1+ years of clinical experience + A valid unrestricted NYS drivers license and able to meet agency driving standards $105,456.00 Minimum Rate per year, $175,760.00 Maximum Rate per year, based on experience.
