The Plastic Surgery Section at Spectrum Health is recruiting two new Physicians to support the educational, administrative, and the clinical components of the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion and our Hospital System that includes eleven local and regional hospitals. Our Cancer center cares for over  650 new breast cancer patients a year and serves as a tertiary care center for the entire western half of the state of Michigan.

The ideal candidates should have a strong interest in reconstructive microsurgery and the selected candidates will      provide general plastic surgery services, Microsurgery, Breast Reconstruction, and extended Oncology reconstructive procedures as part of multi-disciplinary teams working at Spectrum Health.

The Spectrum Health/Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency program is one of the oldest training programs in the country and offers an environment of collegiality with rigorous academic pursuit and a demand for excellence. Our emphasis on research, both clinical and basic science, fosters a unique environment of inquiry and results in residents and faculty producing numerous publications of articles, chapters, and books. The Plastic Surgery service line is an expanding program with a commitment to the recruitment of a diverse group of surgeons and all candidates, who function in a team-based atmosphere.

This is an outstanding and unique opportunity for a plastic surgeon at the assistant or associate professor level to establish and grow an academic practice and be part of a strong and growing residency program. There is also an opportunity to advance into the role of residency associate program director.

Academic appointment and compensation commensurate with training and experience.

Compensation Package:

Malpractice insurance, health, dental, disability and life insurance. Paid time off for vacation, parental leave, illness, CME, and relocation allowance.

Qualifications:

Education - Medical Degree (MD or DO)

Board-eligible or Board-certified in Plastic Surgery Fellowship trained in Microsurgery  

Qualified candidates should possess or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery

Other Requirements/Qualifications:

CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire requiredCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required OrCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days requiredCRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
