Principal Software Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who understand that building the right product requires more than just excellent code. We want open-minded engineers who have a steady focus on delivering the right solution for our users. When in doubt, the answer is to build it and try it. In this role, you will have experience creating software solutions to problems from scratch. You will work with cross functional teams in delivering products for users. **Responsibilities** + Participate in the definition of key scenarios, use cases, and end-user experiences. + Design, implement and refine chosen solutions in close partnership with product management, design, and partner teams. + Identify hard problems, evaluate the pros/cons of practical solutions, and drive decision making. + Become part of a team that values diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds and be a role model for an open, honest, and inclusive approach to solving problems. + Mentor and develop engineers across all levels through sharing and learning. + Lead technical projects and model the culture of the team. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or other high-level programming languages + OR equivalent experience. + Experience in designing, architecting, and driving the development of large features or functionality. + Experience in technical leadership. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience building applications on top of large language models (LLMs). + Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines. + Proven track record of customer-focused innovation. Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
