Production Supervisor - Tray Pack

Production Supervisor - Tray Pack will have overall responsibility of supervising, planning, and directing the production of products on various individual production lines/areas to produce products safely and consistently within quality specifications. This position will supervise and coordinate activities of production associates to meet production needs and ensure efficient operation of their assigned area of responsibility.

Responsible for:  Developing and maintaining positive associate relations; training and developing skills and teamwork of associates under their supervision; ensuring department operates within compliance of HACCP, USDA, and OSHA; and ensuring associates comply with facility safety rules and company policies.  Will oversee associate training and development to ensure a quality product is produced at a competitive cost.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

\n\nSupervises and directs work in dept. to ensure efficient labor utilization.\nPrepares work schedule, monitors, and records employee attendance and performance.\nPrepares and approves employee time records, prepares daily accounting reports related to production.\nIdentifies equipment problems and schedules repairs with Maintenance personnel.\nMaintain optimum line speeds, efficient crewing, and proficient yields.\nMaintain accountabilities for all variances.\nReports staffing, morale, work methods, and procedure problems to the department superintendent\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nProvides direction for necessary training to enhance productivity, employee development and safety.\nActs as leader in safety promotion and awareness\nConducts safety meetings and training as necessary\nProvides feedback on employee work performance\nPrepares reports for upper management \n\n

Additional Responsibilities:

\n\nVerify HACCP paperwork.\n Update attendance calendars.\n Review payroll\n Check inventories.\n Conduct behavior audits.\n Conduct supervisor audits.\nManage data on the shop floor control boards.\nEnsure that both Praise and discipline of associates is conducted in a fair and consistent manner.\nEnsure that all products coming out of the Debone department meets the specification of USDA, the
customer, and the company.\n\n

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

\n\nWorking knowledge of Plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).\nUnderstanding of USDA Policies and Procedures.\nBasic Math and writing skills.\nOptimistic in high-stress environments.\nExperience in previous leadership role preferred.\nAbility to Change “ good communication skill” to “exceptional skills”.\nUse of computers to communicate, record and analyze data.\nAbility to facilitate the operation in the Production Environment.\n\n

Education & Experience: 

\n\nBachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Management or related field or equivalent training and
experience.\nTwo years of experience in a poultry processing facility.\n\n

Working Conditions:
Approximately 70% of this individual’s time will be spent in a manufacturing environment, which is cold and wet. Approximately 30% of the time will be spent in a controlled office environment.
