Property Accounting Manager

Position Responsibilities:

Supervision of Property Accountants and related oversight of a portfolio of wholly owned office properties including review of all G/Ls, reporting, and monthly reporting packages. Accounting and Financial Reporting oversight for assigned external partnerships/joint ventures. Includes review of general ledger, financial statements, sub-ledger reconciliations, GAAP adjustments and fixed asset accounting, and partner reporting for Property Accountant’s assigned properties at least quarterly. Review and approve calculations of Operating expense reimbursement from tenants for assigned portfolio for pre-bills, budgets, annual true-ups and EP accruals. Coordinate annual budgets and reforecasts. Coordinate joint venture external audits and tax returns with assistance from property accountants. Responsible for preparation of quarterly cash projections and monthly review of available cash for distribution for assigned portfolio. Lease review of leases signed over 5,000 to 10,000 square feet for assigned properties. Assist with prorations on acquisitions as needed. Train new property accountants and coach all property accountants. Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.

 Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA preferred. 5+ years of previous experience with GAAP accounting in commercial real estate preferred. Intermediate Excel skills required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Proficiency in JD Edwards or other real estate software preferred.

 Physical Requirements:

Ability to independently move throughout the office and consistently and continuously perform essential job functions. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
