Shift times and overtime hours vary dependent on position, department, and location2nd shift: Monday – Thursday, four 10 hour days, overtime worked at the end of shift and on Friday’s and occasional Saturday's

Summary of Job Description

The positions within a Pump Plumbing Assembler work within precise and set limits, to tolerances and standards when performing a variety of tasks.  The employee must be able to read and understand blue prints and collect the proper materials needed to start the pump plumbing assembly process. The employees use hand and power tools to complete their tasks. They must maintain a clean and safe working environment. 
 

Essential Functions

Communicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environmentFollow written and verbal instructions to complete tasksLift light and/or heavy parts on and off a cart, floor, shelf, etc. Operate a crane/hoist for heavy liftingPerform finish plumbingPrepare pipe for plumbing installation including cutting and threadingPerform hydrostatic leak tests and record resultsRepair any identified leaksRun gauge tubing and make connectionsComplete pre-line plumbingComplete mid-line plumbingPerform finish plumbing to include  fitting up of pump panel and mechanical linkagesPerform welding for pipe and bracketryPrepare pipe for plumbing installation including  cutting and threadingPerform vacuum tests and record resultsWeld, thread, and install pipingRead and interpret blue prints/fluid path diagrams & 3D CAD modelsApply measurement practices for proper alignment and part attachmentProficient utilizing pneumatic/power hand tools, ex. drilling, grinding, reciprocating sawsCustom fabrication of finish pieces and bracketryWork overtime as neededMaintain clean and safe work environment

Marginal Work Functions

DA sand and finish edges of parts*Install covers, masking tape, and bags on components not to be painted*Perform finish plumbing to include; installing pump panel and mechanical linkages.*Perform welding for pipe and bracketry.*Weld, thread, and install heavy weld pipe.*Work with co-workers in the same area*Utilize a computer to view prints and work orders*Sort, inspect, and pick the correct parts for the assembly process*Operate a forklift to transport truck parts to and from designated areas*May assist in training new employeesMove to other departments/areas to assist with an assembly project*Testing of parts and equipment

Basic Qualifications

Previous experience with basic hand tools

Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions

Previous plumbing experienceTwo or more years of mechanical and assembly experienceExperience repairing pumps and pump systems preferredPrevious welding/fabrication experienceTechnical or Associate’s degree in a relevant Technician or Technology program or equivalent education and/or mechanical training.
