Hexcel is currently seeking a Purchasing Agent for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Procurement of critical raw material components, comparing demand with existing and forecasted sales orders.Prepares and issues raw material requisition for approval by Materials and Production Management.Determines raw material supplier source in accordance with an approved supplier list, provides input on supplier performance materials, quality and plant management.Liaison for issuing updated specifications to suppliers.  Coordinates and resolves receiving inspection issues and purchase order requirements with applicable supplier.Determines sourcing for requirements and evaluates resulting submissions and determines best value for Hexcel based upon cost/price analysis.Assists in the performance of risk analysis to assure contractor insurance certifications are in compliance with corporate requirements.Assures compliance with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. Participates in preparation of instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures. Reviews purchasing contracts to ensure compliance with corporate purchasing and legal guidelines.Reviews and resolves contract disputes and/or Purchase Order Claims to bring about resolution in accordance with corporate guidelines.Interacts with and provides reports for management and inter-departmental entities (Accounts Payable, Receiving). Generates, maintains and completes purchase order files in accordance with corporate purchasing and for audit reviews.Mentor and train other plant personnel involved with procurement activities. This training includes policy and procedure issues, P-card training and usage, AX2012, purchasing module usage and supplier selection.

Qualifications:

BS/BA degree in Business Administration or equivalent discipline preferred or a minimum of 3-5 years supply chain and/or purchasing experience required in a manufacturing environmentProficient in part definition, bills of material, capacity planningStrong computer skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft software productsAPICS certification preferredProficient in MPS / MRP systemsSolid negotiation skillsKnowledge of AX2012 preferredExperience in inventory control systems and understands Lean ManufacturingExcellent communication skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish relevant facts and provide practical solutions
