Working as a QCS (Quality Control System​) Application Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in PAPI P&P Solutions, Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI) in Westerville, Ohio, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals.In this role, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities

Provide technical support as required for software specials proposalsPlanning and Schedule ManagementEnsure direct manager is current on all scheduled project activitiesDevelop System Functional Specification for all projects when lead role is assignedManage System software implementation when lead role is assignedSupport Project Manager with overall project planPrepare System software and make ready for internal integration testSupport integration test of systems during internal One hundred Percent TestSupport Factory Acceptance Test with Customer, if included in projectProvide feedback to project team during design phase of projectsDevelop software and graphic specials to meet project scopeSupport system implementation at Customer site and support start up activitiesFollow up with a system software issues, document on support line and drive to resolutionProvide Level 3 support line coverage on periodic basisFeedback technical issues to Engineering Manager for knowledge transfer to entire groupEnsure support line issues are fully documentedProvide Technical support of project activities during the start up, optimization and results stage of the project. Ensure Customer feedback is communicated to Project Manager

Your background

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical) or Paper/Computer Science required and minimum 4 years working within a manufacturing environment or with capital projects. QCS application experience in the Pulp and Paper industry preferred.Fluent in written and verbal English, Spanish a plusStrong leadership and communications skillsWorking with any Distributed Control SystemsWorking with any PLC equipmentPrevious Industrial Automation Experience a plusMust be able to engage in a team settingTravel up to 30 percent may be requiredVMWare vSphere knowledge preferredVMWare Workstation preferredNetworking knowledgeWorking with Function Blocks, Structured Text, Ladder LogicInstalling and configuring Windows Server Operating SystemsInstalling and configuring Windows Workstation operating systemsInstalling and configuring active directoryConfiguring networks and switches including vlansTroubleshooting networks and using network troubleshooting toolsExperience configuring storage hardwareUsing Visual Studio, specifically C#Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
